An Award made to a developer or owner of a residential scheme located within the Leicestershire or Rutland boundaries which was judged by both a panel of experts and the ProCon membership.
Schemes must have achieved practical completion within the 18 months prior to 31st July 2013, and not have been previously submitted for a ProCon Award.
Small Residential is classed as 5 units or less.
At 2 Howard Road the Leicester contractor Moseley Brown Developments has created a new detached home with sustainability built-in – from the ground source heat pump to the photovoltaic panels on the roof.
The Belgrave Riverside development is on the former British Union Shoe Machinery (BUSM) head office on Ross Walk.
At Shackerstone Walk in Carlton, a high quality and low energy home has been created for a couple to live in throughout their approaching retirement.
Residential for the purpose of these Awards is classed as any scheme which is used for living purposes e.g. single dwelling, care home, housing development, apartments, student accommodation.
Properties can be new build, conversion or refurbishment.
The applications were judged by a panel of judges and three finalists decided upon.
The finalists’ entries were then presented to the ProCon membership who cast their votes for the winner.
